2006 Top Ten Movies
Filed in archive Latin Movies by Eliane on December 07, 2006

I know, not all of these movies were released this year, and they are not Latin movies (except for N°3)... But I am Latina, and this is my Top Ten Movies for 2006.
Well, to be accurate, here is the first part of my Top Ten, in ascending order. Tomorrow I'll post the Top Five, with a Bonus track. ;)
10 - Silent Hill (2006)
Based on the video game, it's well done; the horrifying and despairing atmosphere of the game is there. Scary and entertaining.
9 - Underworld Evolution (2006)
I liked the first one, and the sequel lived up to it. It's not a really great movie, but if you're a Vampire-movie fan, you'll enjoy this one.
8 - The DaVinci Code (2006)
With all the buzz around this movie, I expected more from it. Again, it's not the greatest movie ever, but it's entertaining and intriguing. A must-see.
7 - X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
The last part of the X-Men saga is a nice round up of the previous movies, and its end promises more for the future. But what I like more about the X-men movies, is the metaphor for intolerance and racism. It gives us a lot to think about.
6 - Last Holiday (2006)
Ideal for this season, Last Holiday is a beautiful tale about how a dying woman (Queen Latifa) decides to spend her last holiday. Sounds depressing? It's not! It's encouraging and inspiring, and makes you think about how you're spending your life. Oh, and it's pretty funny, too.
