Last year, the streets of San Diego welcomed the 1st Annual fiesta Del Sol - San Diego, an event that was entirely community driven and produced. Inspired by the "Fiesta Del Sol in Chicago" festival, Fiesta Del Sol - San Diego celebrated the rich history, diverse culture and good works of the people of San Diego.

La Fiesta del Sol is presented by Justice Overcoming Boundaries San Diego (J.O.B), a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help the various organizations in San Diego County accomplish their missions and achieve their goals.

The organization's mission is to invest in the development of the community and the community's leaders so that they may be able to address the needs of their families and their communities. They also advocate for a national comprehensive immigration policy, and speak about civil rights for immigrants, healthy homes, equity in education and health care access.

Fiesta Del Sol - San Diego is sponsored by El Latino, San Diego County's largest Hispanic newspaper, with more than 300,000 weekly readers.

The second annual Fiesta Del Sol - San Diego will be held on August 18th and 19th 2007. But this event is not only a fair where you can eat and listen to music all weekend; there will also be education, business and civic workshops offered to all who attend.

"The community needs these types of events. La Fiesta del Sol is an entrenched tradition in Chicago and with our community's support, we believe it will become a tradition in our county as well," said Fanny E. Miller, president of El Latino. "Entertainment is important, however, the fact that organizers care about offering pavilions where one can also learn something besides having fun, is one of the reasons we support this important fiesta," added the president of El Latino.

If you're in San Diego, you should definitely go. There will be food stands, music, children's entertainment, teenage entertainment and everything else you can think of. Student scholarships will also be awarded. And it's free!
