Another RBD Incident in Brazil

I'm always surprised by how far people can go, just to get a little closer to their idols. That kind of hysteria scares me; you never know what could happen, when you have too many fans surrounding/pursuing their favorite stars.

Look what happened last Friday in Brazil: an incident marked the exit of RBD from the Hilton Hotel, in São Paulo, in the afternoon of last Friday (April 27). Fans of the band where agglomerated in front of the hotel; the group's van sped up to escape from the tumult, when a girl ran towards the group, and the vehicle accidentally ran over her foot. Fortunately, nothing more serious happened.

The RBD's tour PR for Brazil confirmed the incident and informed the girl was taken care of immediately. She was attended in the group's dressing-room before last Friday's show.

This is the official note sent to the press:

"We clarify that the girl injured in front of the hotel where RBD is staying, when she ran towards the van that was taking the group to the show's place, was taken care of readily, driven to the show's location and received in the dressing-room by the group. She and her brother are attending this afternoon's show. "

After São Paulo, the "Celestial 2007" went to Brasilia (April 28) and Meleiro, in Santa Catarina (April 29).

So, the girl was reckless and stupid, got injured, and was rewarded with a VIP pass. Ok. I understand; after all, they had bad previous experiences in Brazil; they are probably just glad she didn't got killed.

In case you don't know, during RBD 2006 Brazilian tour; another incident left three dead and 42 injured. During an autograph rush, three people (a woman and her two children) were trampled by the crowd and crushed to death.

Maybe the chicos (Dulce María, Anahí, Maite; Christopher, Christian and Alfonso) should think twice before going back to Brazil. Or maybe Brazilian fans should think twice before trying to get closer to the chicos. As I've said before, you never know what may happen, in this kind of situation. Better safe than sorry.
