Big Mac Shows World’s Disparity

Big Mac Shows World's Disparity

How much would you have to work, in order to have enough money to buy a Big Mac?

Reuters answers that question trough an unscientific survey, which covers 13 countries around the world. The results show huge differences between the earning power of low-income workers.

As usual, people from less-developed countries are in disadvantage.

While in Australia (the winner, so to speak) it only takes 16 minutes, in Egypt you'll have to work as long as 5 hours and 15 minutes.

In the First World, to buy your Big Mac, you would work from 16 minutes to 30 minutes. In the Third World, from 43 minutes to 5 hours and 15 minutes.

This (sort of) humorous ranking reflects the painful disparity of our world. I bet most Egyptian low-income workers have never tasted a Big Mac.

Check out the full list:

Australia – 16 mins
Japan – 22 mins
Britain – 22 mins
