Brazilian Carnival – Trio Elétrico in Salvador
Carnival is celebrated nation wide in Brazil. However, each state has its own version; traditional music, dances and celebration are different from region to region.
The most world famous Brazilian carnival is Rio de Janeiro's Carnival; in second place comes Bahia, where the carnival takes over the streets. One of the most popular elements of the Carnival in Bahia is the Trio Elétrico.
Trio Elétrico is the name for a truck equipped with a high power sound system and a music group on top of it, playing for the crowd songs of local genres such as axé. People follow the trucks singing and dancing.
In this video you can see one of the most popular groups, who performs every year in Trio Elétrico, in Salvador: Chiclete com Banana. It's amazing how they make the crowd sing and dance!
