Daddy Yankee is a Leader in Latin Culture?

Daddy Yankee is talking about his new album, The Cartel: The Big Boss, which will be released on June 5, 2007.
"Reggaeton needs a little change and I'm changing too," he says. "You can't rest on the past. This album is very different. My roots are still there but now there's much more, a side of me that people have never seen, including hip-hop. And I know the huge impact music has too. I'm a leader in Latin culture. The album talks about the role we're playing in society. For people that doesn't know what's happening, we need to let them know what's going on."
I don't like anything about Daddy Yankee's music; the melody, the rhythm, the lyrics, the "culture" that has been created around his work; all about violence and machismo, and no real talent. Now, everybody is agreeing with him; I haven't seen anybody saying he's not a leader in Latin culture.
People think of him as a leader in our culture, just because of his popularity. What contribution has he made to the Latin community or the Latin culture? Teaching people how to say "Muevete esas nalgas" (move your buttocks)?
I would rather listen to Shakira. She has an amazing talent, and she's always working for a better life to Latin Americans; specially for children. That's the kind of message a true leader spreads.
