El Oso

I haven't told you about Oso's Blog. He doesn't post too often - I guess his job at Global Voices keeps him very busy - but when he does, it's really worth the wait.
He wrote the best piece I've ever seen about smoking - (Not) Been Smoking (in) Too Long - a short post that will last in my memory forever. The best part:
"The cigarette is not an object; it is a place that we return to, a cycle of drunken parties, hands-in-pockets intermissions, standing outside the bar wondering where we go to next, staring into an empty coffee mug searching for that last sentence, seething furious after being hung up on, and staring at the tree-tops thinking fuck it it's only life anyway. The cigarette is an act of nostalgia, a peaceful Homecoming to familiarity. The cigarette kills you, but then, so do a lot of things."
OMG, there's so much poetry, sadness and truth in these few words.
And that's why I love Oso's blog: there's always lots of soul in his writing. One of his latest posts is another example of this: On How to Make the Perfect Sandwich. A simple, small tale, a big life lesson. Thanks, Oso.
Check it out: Oso, Moreno, Abogado
(I didn't mentioned there are two other bloggers there. Sorry guys, Oso is my favorite.)
