Eva Mendes and the Hot Actress Dilemma

Cuban-flavored actress Eva Mendes is Nicholas Cage's co-star in Ghost Rider, an adaptation of the Marvel comics with the same name. The movie will be on theaters on February 16, simultaneously on US and Spain.
It was presented in Spain yesterday, and the actress – who plays Roxanne Simpson – said she's not satisfied with her career at the moment.
Eva feels she's "just getting started". The latin beauty wants to become a dramatic actress, and work "with directors who have an artistic vision", such as Scorsese, Almodóvar or Guillermo del Toro.
But what really got my attention was the fact that she believes the way she exploits her looks, in order to succeed, keeps her from being taken in consideration for more serious, dramatic roles. We've heard this before.
Now, if she recognizes she uses her stunning appearance to get roles, why is she unhappy?
Obviously, because she wants more! Isn't she entitled to?
Mendes also said "every Latin woman's victory in Hollywood is not and obstacle, but an open door for the others". Talking about making lemonade…
I really don't know what she could do to avoid this issues, because… her beauty is pretty obvious, isn't it? Apparently it's also obvious not all pretty (or hot) actresses exploit their beauty in the same way – or at least, it's not common to see a woman recognizing she does that. I know beauty doesn't mean talent, but I also believe many women are discriminated upon this matter.
Do you think a woman who rely on her looks doesn't deserve to be considered for more serious jobs?
