Gisele Bundchen Criticizes Catholic Church's Regulations

Brazilian Supermodel Gisele Bundchen told Folha de S.Paulo newspaper in an interview, that Catholic Church's regulations about sex are from centuries ago, when women were expected to be virgins. I couldn't agree more.
After the Pope's visit, and his statements regarding the Church's firm opposition to abortion, contraception and sex outside of marriage, it's good to hear a famous celebrity saying something that actually makes sense.
"Today no one is a virgin when they get married ... show me someone who's a virgin!" Gisele said.
Asked about abortion, she defended the woman's right to choose what is best for her:
"If she thinks she doesn't have the money or the emotional condition to raise a child, why should she give birth?"
And I ask: and what about the women who got pregnant during a rape? And the ones who have to face life risk because of the pregnancy?
About contraceptives, Gisele said:
"It's ridiculous to ban contraceptives -- you only have to think of the diseases that are transmitted without them. I think it should be compulsory to use a contraceptive."
The Church's opposition to the use of condoms is one of the things that pisses me off the most. It's inhuman to tell people not to use something that can save their lives, just because of some outdated, obsolete moralism! And the worst, is they don't even care!!
Luckily, Brazil is going the opposite way. The Brazilian government has created anti-AIDS programs to distribute millions of free condoms, and Health Minister Jose Temporão has called for a national referendum on abortion.
