Havana in a Time Capsule
Filed in archive Latin Travel by Greg Cruey on March 12, 2009
I came across an interesting piece on Havana from CNN Travel last week and they describe Havana as being a time capsule...
Through its years of post-revolution isolation it has evolved differently from the rest of the world, so that Havana feels like it belongs to some parallel universe.

In a homogenized world of 'McCities' subject to the same trans-national fads and fashions, Havana is defiantly unglobalized and proud to play by its own rules.
The article looks at some of the historic preservation of the city and says that the fading grandeur of Old Havana has been saved. Modern Havana, according to CNN, is an oxymoron. The city is frozen in 1959.

The article provides an interesting description of the city. You can read it here.
