Cultural identity is one of the most important things for Latinos everywhere. Our heritage can only survive if we keep it alive, and pass it onto the new generations. I've had an idea for this holidays, regarding that matter: how about focusing some of our gifts on our heritage? Here are a few examples; all of them can be adapted to fit your country:
1 - Books
Great writers from your country, biographies, history books, historical or geographic novels, traditional children's literature; the choices are endless. Look for relevance and fun.
2 - documentaries
These are a great way of learning about your country's History, Geography, Culture, Fauna and Flora, Tourism and Culture.
3 - Travel
If you have big bucks to spend, why not giving a cultural travel package to someone especial?
4 - Arts and Crafts
Anything traditional or typical would do: paintings, sculptures, handcrafted decorative objects, knick-knacks, clothing...
5 - Cookbook
Full with traditional recipes, the more photos the better!
6 - Dance Lessons
Rumba, samba, vallenato, you name it; there are dance lessons for everybody! Maybe you'll have to browse a little to find exactly what you want, but the fun will be well worth it!
7 - Music CD
Take some time to choose a couple of good Music CD's from your country/heritage, and share it with your family and friends. For a really nice gift, you can even put togheter an entire collection.
8 - Magazine/Paper Subscription
Help people stay updated with the latest news from your community. This gift is not very expensive, and it will last over a long period of time.

Thanks! Oh, I love baking gifts, specially cookies. I do it every year, too, and it's always a big hit. I even take pictures of the boxes, haha!
PS- I like your blog, it's really nice. Bye!
