Holiday Insurance: Do you need it in South America?

Filed in archive information about , Latin Holidays , Latin Travel on March 8, 2010

Always I have found traveling to South America fascinating.

Want some tips on what to do in South America? There are so many possibilities of what to do from Rio de Janeiro to Caracas. Brazil is one big street carnival where you won't have enough partying day and night. On the other hand, you can check out art works of by Pablo Picasso, Matisse, Joan Miro and other modern masters at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo in Caracas (Central Venezuela). Just get some travel guides and find out what you like. If you don't know where to go you can stay in clean and fancy airport hotels for the first nights.

For all your South American adventure, better equip yourself with holiday insurance. Just to be on the safe side. That might only be the reason for getting a travel insurance: to be on the safe side. Most of the time I think getting one turns out to be a waste of time and money. But that's just me. Because there was one time I bought a blue cross before traveling because it was a visa requirement. Then the visa application was denied. I never even actually used the travel/holiday insurance. That time it was really a waste of my time and money.

But then you might disagree. What do you think? Is a holiday insurance really necessary?
