How Many Oscars Did Latinos Get?

The 79th Annual Academy Awards (A.K.A the Oscars) were presented last night. As you probably remember, Latinos got several Oscar nominations. But how things actually turned out for the Latin nominees?
Guillermo del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth" had six nominations, and got three awards: Achievement in makeup (David Marti and Montse Ribe), Achievement in cinematography (Guillermo Navarro) and Achievement in art direction (Art Direction: Eugenio Caballero Set Decoration: Pilar Revuelta).
In the "Best foreign language film of the year" category, "Pan's Labyrinth" lost for "The Lives of Others" (Germany). In "Original screenplay" Guillermo del Toro lost for Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine), and Javier Navarrete lost for Gustavo Santaolalla (Babel) in the "Achievement in music written for motion pictures (Original Score)" category.
Among the other Latin nominees (the ones not related with Pan's Labyrinth), Gustavo Santaolalla was the only one who got an award for his nomination. Adriana Barraza in "Babel" lost the "Actress in a supporting role" award for Jennifer Hudson in "Dreamgirls".
Martin Scorsese's "The Departed" took away the left awards from the following Latin nominees:
- Achievement in film editing: "Children of Men" by Alex Rodríguez and Alfonso Cuarón (winner: Thelma Schoonmaker).
- Adapted screenplay: "Children of Men" Screenplay by Alfonso Cuarón & Timothy J. Sexton and David Arata and Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby (winner: William Monahan.). Babel was also nominated in this category.
- Achievement in directing: "Babel" by Alejandro González Iñárritu (winner: Martin Scorsese).
- Best motion picture of the year "Babel" Alejandro González Iñárritu, Jon Kilik and Steve Golin, Producers (winner: Graham King, Producer).
So, it didn't turned out quite how we expected. But, after all, "Pan's Labyrinth" got three awards.
At least, Mel Gibson's Apocalypto didn't got any awards. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" got the "Achievement in visual effects" award - one award for four nominations.
And, in case you're wondering, Penélope Cruz (Volver) lost for Helen Mirren (The Queen), in the "Performance by an actress in a leading role" category.
