Jennifer Lopez Inspired by Rita Hayworth's Elegance? I Really Don't Think So

Jennifer Lopez said in an interview that the old Hollywood stars help her on getting rid of the "sexy Latina cliche". I wonder which part of the "cliche" she doesn't like: the part that says she's Latina, or the part that says she's sexy. (Celebrities really should think harder before making stupid statements like this).

Jennifer thinks that Rita Hayworth was one of the best dressed actress in the movies history. Lopez also said that she seeks inspiration in the classic stars of Hollywood at the time of choosing and combining clothes, and she does everything she can to get rid of the "sexy semi-nude Latina" cliche. She explained all this things in an interview with the German newspaper "Welt am Sonntag".

J-Lo confessed her admiration for women like Hayworth, who "incarnate the old glamor of Hollywood". She said that Rita Hayworth "knew better than any other woman how to dress with elegance, on a sexy way but without being vulgar".

"Six or seven years ago I was always showing my belly. But now I am a more mature woman, with experience. And fashion is an expression of my personality, of where I am in my life", she explains.

Sure. Six or seven years ago she wasn't 38 years old, and she wasn't married. And I guess back than her belly wasn't exactly how it is right now. Of course it's good and natural to be more mature as you grow older, and I'm always in favor of dressing according to your age (without becoming a nun). But is it really necessary to talk like that about "sexy latinas", as if it were some kind of insult?

Besides, if people think of Jennifer Lopez as a "sexy semi-nude Latina", it is probably because she used to go around half naked, isn't it?
