Juanes Is On Fire
Filed in archive Latin Music on October 19, 2007

Really cool. After being honored with a statue, being named Prince of his hometown, and winning the "Agentes del Cambio" award at the MTV Latin Awards, Colombian singer Juanes has more big news: he will sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert on December 11th.
He will be joining famous and internationally recognized artists: alicia keys, Annie Lenox, Earth, Wind & Fire and KT Tunstall. Melissa Etheridge will also perform at the concert, invited by Al Gore.
Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won this year's Nobel Peace Prize for their work on global warming. Each Nobel winner can choose an artist to perform at the Nobel Prize Concert. Gore chose Melissa Etheridge because she is the singer of "I Need To Wake Up", his documentary's song.
Back to Juanes: so cool to have a Latin singer in such an important event, isn't it?
"The Nobel Committee is very happy to receive such a talented and eclectic group of artists for this big occasion" said Geir Lundestad, secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
