Low Season in the Galapagos Islands

April and May are the low season for tourism in the Galapagos Islands – and that may make it the best time to go…
The Galapagos Islands are part of Ecuador. They consist of several chains of islands about 500 miles (900 kilometers) for South America's Pacific coast.
The Galapagos Islands are unique. The islands don't have any large, land-based predators and as a result there is a unique ecosystem where animals aren't particularly afraid of human beings. The bird life (which includes both penguins and flamingos) is fascinating. But the reptiles attract more attention. Galapagos is home to a species of giant tortoise and to a marine iguana.
Charles Darwin spent time in the Galapagos Islands and formed much of his theory of evolution here. If you're interested in seeing the colorful and exotic animal life of the islands yourself, going now means lower prices and smaller crowds.

The Galapagos Islands are the most incredible living museum of evolutionary changes, with a huge variety of endemic species (birds, land and sea animals, plants) and landscapes not seen anywhere else.
