Marriage Agency Selling Machismo For US Men
It seemed like a good idea: I've read an article describing how lonely Latinos in the US were finding love in Latin America, through the Website of a marriage agency, which offers Colombian brides.
I thought it was interesting, and went to check it out. I was unpleasantly surprised.

What a load of $#%&! "Significantly younger and more beautiful than what is locally available"?! They are full of it! And it gets worst:
"It is common knowledge that Latin American women are faithful, loyal, and devoted wives. (…)Colombian women stay with their first family until marriage and then the tradition continues with their new family. They have been raised to complement, nurture and respect their men. (…)"
"With Colombian women you get all the extras without the compromises. There's not a better class of woman on the planet…"
Basically, they are saying Latin American women (and specially Colombians) are morons. The text covers its offensive machismo with a varnish of compliments.
Apparently this people think we're the best class of women 'cause we were raised to be a wife from the XII century. "All the extras without the compromises" means: "Buy a Latin American Bride, she'll kiss your feet and worship the ground where you stand! And she won't ask for anything, you won't have to give her anything in exchange!"
I am absolutely convinced that the wife should nurture and respect her husband (or her man, for that matter). But I also believe the husband should nurture and respect his wife as well. For me, the sexist concepts implied in the text from this website are outrageous and offensive. Check it out and see for yourself.

Hi Im a Colombian woman and I agree with u about how they sell us aas merchandaizing or like animals ( is offensive and ridiculos.
Im about to get married with an american guy but he is not getting married with me because Im a future slave, we love each other.and thouse sites are just offensive I really think every where in this world there are great women.

Maria, I’m not Colombian but I was really pissed off when I saw this. People who sell this s*it is stupid sexist. Women deserve respect, no matter where they are from.
Luckily for us, there are men who understand this – like your fianceé – and treat us like persons, not like animals.

Although theres some sites and people out there who traffic women (its been around since the dawn of time in case you didnt know that),
Many sites are not doing this. Theres MANY american men myself included who want a wonderful colombian woman due to experiences we have had in the past at university whatever….
There isnt a colombian woman anywhere close for the most part.
If i wanted a burping. cold, selfish, materialistic feminist… id go to a gay bar…. rather than marry american women..
So all things the same…. id rather have a latin woman who hasnt lost family values and PASSION in a relationship… american women its just a few GRUNTS and thats love…

i am a mexican-american man raised by my dear grandmother as a young boy so i was taught to respect a woman.
I would love a nice Colombian woman in my life, but hey i can cook, wash, clean for myself…
just need a nice woman to share the up, and downs of life.
Most men here are not happy with the american women becasue they forgot how to be ladys in the first place.
Now as to these site well they are not too bad casue well i dont know wheres theres a nice colombian woman who lives near me.

If you think Latina women make better wives I suggest you do a little more research. Do the websites that promote Latina or Colombian women also tell you about their negative characteristics? For example, did they tell you how jealous and possessive Latina women are? Did they tell you that Latina women expect to never, ever work once they are married? So if you ever have money troubles, don’t expect her to help. Also, this notion that Latina women are less materialistic than Gringa women is crock. You have obviously never been shopping with them. They are grossly materialistic, especially regardin home decor, clothes, what their children wear, etc. Did they tell you how pretentious they are as soon as they have a little something in the way of material goods? Did they tell you how many of them simply will not learn English no matter how many years they live in the US? These are just a few of the traits the websites don’t tell you about. Before you buy the idea that Latina women are more feminine and traditional, remember that the traditional notion of women also has its traditional negative charateristics too. Also, do the websites tell you how Latinas never really mentally really leave their families of origin? Be prepared to have your Latina wife’s family interfere in your life all the time. Think twice before you marry women from overseas.

In my case , I got married to a girl from Cali Colombia who used me to obtain her american passport and then leave ,…….now I realiza that a Colombian woman ,( of course not all), be very careful , they will even give you children just to get out of their own country,..is a sad situation but a reality ,………I am reporting her to the INS and will do every thing I can as an american citizen so she gets deported back to her getto ,…Jorge Colmenares

I am married to a Latina woman and she treats me like a king. She saves money whenever she can and is very frugal. She knows English and has formal education. She always looks nice and takes time to take of her body. That crap that was said from the angry American woman earlier was a desperate cry for attention. I know other American guys who have married in South America women and will never go back to trashy, feminist, bar hopping, selfish, CHEATING!!!! American women. Maybe if you learn to close your legs and be am mom and a wife instead of a desperate house wife, the men wouldn’t travel abroad to find a suitable spouse.

I think the original reviewer read a lot between the lines here that 1.) makes assumptions and/or 2.) is not accurate.
I am a black male in US and I have dated latinas exclusively for 15 years. Its not because I expect then to be my slave, its because the XII century mentality means at the very least they treat men with respect. And since I can only speak for myself, i have always been treated with respect. Relationships are always you-get-what-you-give and being with a latina is no different. I have seen men not treat them right and catch hell. You can ruin a good thing.
Dont assume we all want to crack the whip on a slave. Its not even about that. And I would think that the majority of the women on that site and others would be able to tell after a 1 hour conversation what kind of man they are dealing with.
