Meme – 17 Questions to Reflect – II

4. Which were some of the unexpected Obstacles that came up, and how did you deal with them? Looking back, would you have done anything differently?
I had two major issues, regarding my blogging work:
1 - When we switched ISP, we were "Internet-free" for about two weeks. We didn't plan the switch properly; so we had to wait until the new service was connected.
2 - In November, we had to stay (because of family issues) 20 days out of our home. The place where we stayed didn't had Internet connection.
These two situations have a lot in common. It was hard for me to work during that time, going to cyber cafes, having little time. I hate cyber cafes – the noise, slow connections, bad hardware, etc.
Both situations could have been avoided (or at least things could have been easier), if I had done some planning before it happened. That's what I would have done differently: preparing myself.
5. What expectations did you find you needed to let go of?
I think this year I finally understood: it's better not to expect people to be anything, do anything or behave in any specific way. It's much better (and less painful) just letting people be, without expectations. That way, I don't get frustrated or disappointed, and I don't put pressure above others.
6. Looking ahead, how do you want to structure next year to support your writing?
I want to manage my time better. I believe if I set a routine, with clearly established hours and tasks, I'll be more productive. I tend to do things in a chaotic way, and I waste a lot of time going from one task to another, and going back. December is THE chaotic month of the year, but I've already started to organize myself.
