New DVD Series for Latino Babies

Here's an interesting press-release I came across today:

VOY Launches New DVD Series with "VOY Baby Discovering Colors"

A companion website, www.voybaby.com, will also provide early childhood information and community resources for new parents seeking to interact and support each other. (...)

VOY Baby was created by Latinos for Latinos. It is the perfect tool for parents looking for an engaging, entertaining program to teach both English and Spanish language fundamentals. Each VOY Baby title, appropriate for children ages 0-3, combines eye-popping toys, Latino iconography, lively puppets with upbeat Latin music, and repetition (vital to early learning) to introduce the basics - colors, shapes, numbers, etc. - through identical English and Spanish segments."

It seems the companion website hasn't been launched yet. But you can take a sneak peek and watch a promotional video, with previews of the DVD. Apparently it's a kind of version of Baby Einstein DVDs, focused on Latino families. I think it's an excellent idea; this sure will be a nice help for those parents rising bilingual children.

The first title, "VOY Baby Discovering Colors" - "Colores", will be released on DVD February 6, 2007. The suggested price is a very attractive $12.99.

The press-release also speaks about the company behind the launching:

"VOY^® (meaning "I Go" in Spanish) (www.voyplaza.com) is a digital media company focused on delivering culturally relevant entertainment and empowering today's new generation of English-speaking Latinos and those discovering Latin culture."

The link took me to a Latin Music portal, full packed with information, downloads, on-line radios... They have so many stuff, I will have to go back there later, to really explore the site. I'll let you know my findings and opinion in another post.
