As I've said in my previous post about the Latin Grammy 2007 nominations, I'm very happy with the Uruguayan presence in the list. Even more happy after discovering that there's a third Uruguayan nominee:
Raúl Jaurena is competing in the Best tango Album category with the album "Te amo tango" (I love you tango). It's the second time Jaurena has been nominated for the Grammys - he was nominated in 2002 with "Tango bar".
Raúl Jaurena has been working with "El Quinteto Sinopus", a group of five instrumentalists with a 14 years career, since 2003. Alejandra Moreira, one of his partners, said: "It's a great honor, an Uruguayan group having this opportunity, specially in tango."
Here's a taste of this musician's talent: Raúl Jaurena at an accordion festival in New York.
The video is long (almost 10 minutes) but's absolutely beautiful. Enjoy!
