According to Billboard, Mexican band RBD is venturing into hip-hop:
Sources tell Billboard the group is following its 2006 English-language debut, "Rebels," with a new, expanded edition of the disc.
Slated for release early next year, the new "Rebels" will contain three new hip-hop influenced tracks courtesy of producer Jack Splash, who has worked with Cee-Lo, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend and alicia keys.
They certainly are paying attention to the U.S. based fans. RBD will return to Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, October 6. The Mexican pop phenomenon performed at the Pizza Hut Park stage last year, on April 29, 2006.
RBD will be at the Pizza Hut Park as part of its Celestial 2007 Tour, which has already taken the band through Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Spain and Romania. The group's U.S. tour kicks off on September 28 in Chicago.
And, last but not least, RBD fan clubs from all around the world are being called in the RBD's official website, to participate in a campaign for the creation of the "World-wide RBD Day".
The day to celebrate "RBD Day" will be next month, on October 4. The date was chosen by the fans for being the date of the beginning of the "Rebelde" soap. This is a very weird campaign; will it be successful?
