I have a great home remedy for you guys, all be it a little odd. I got this one from my mom. Get a hold of cornsilk. They're the little yellow strings in corn husks.

If you've ever had a UTI (urinary tract infection), then you know that tinkling quickly becomes torture. Take cornsilk and make tea with it, drinking it as much and as often as you like. It reduces bladder inflammation and makes bathroom visits less painful. The tea itself doesn't taste like anything much, but you can always sweeten it with a little honey.

You'll also find cornsilk capsules and drops at whole food stores.

Cornsilk also helps clean your kidneys; it's a natural diuretic that will help you get rid of water weight; and it lowers blood pressure to boot.

Where can you get cornsilk? One source is whole food stores; in Mexico you can find it at the market or tianguis; and you can always just head to the grocery store and buy a few corn husks.

You can never know too many ways to alleviate pain, so if you know good UTI solutions, let us know.
