On Tuesday, Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin got his name immortalized with a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood .
Besides Ricky, there are many Latinos who already have a star on the world's most famous walk, including Luis Miguel, Julio Iglesias, José José, Mario Moreno "Cantinflas" and Juan Gabriel. Ricky Martin's star is star number 2.351 on the Hollywood Boulevard
Ricky was very happy, and he said:
"My work has been recognized. It will be here for always, I hope... I am motivated right now, we'll see where this takes me."
Wearing a very elegant dark suit, Martin said to the hundreds of fans who attended the ceremony: "Everything I do, I do it with love and passion... This is an incredible moment...".
The ceremony was "hosted" by mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the legendary actress Rita Moreno, who said about Martin: "To talk about his capacity, his praises, his prizes... It's redundant. Ricky has dedicated part of his life, his talent and his resources to help the children around the world".
In 2000, Ricky created the Ricky Martin Foundation, to fight for children's rights and against human trafficking. He also continues to work as
a UNICEF Ambassador.
