Shakira The Most Influential Latina 2006

According to the results of the Vivir Latino poll, Shakira is The Most Influential Latina 2006. She outvoted Jennifer López and even Fidel Castro. I agree with the results; Shakira is a great representant and speaker for the Latin community. Besides, I love her music, since "Estoy Aqui", from the album "Pies Descalzos", released in 1995.

What's bugging me is the photo of her they've posted with the results. It's not the fact she doesn't look Latina at all in this particular shot (I've talked about this topic in my previous post); she doesn't even look like herself! I had to look twice to see if it was really her.

I don't understand why they've chosen this photo. Would have been nice to see the exuberant Latin icon we all know and love, instead of this blond skinny beauty. It is Shakira, but she does not look very much like Shakira. And I don't know how this is posible. In my opinion, it was a poor choice. But I've been wrong before.
