Shakira's Non-Authorized Biography and Documentary

The documentary Shakira: La Niña de los Pies Descalzos (The barefoot girl) allegedly will tell Shakira's true history and, along with a non-authorized biography will be presented in Spain before the end of this year.
Both projects, produced by Carlos Vanegas, Shakira's first manager, are already in production and it's quite probable that the documentary will be on TV.
According to Vanegas, the documentary shows the difficult beginnings of the Colombian star, her fight to reach fame and those works she regrets. He didn't reveal who are his contacts nor the date of the documentary's premiere. Vanegas did say the book will be on the market in 2008.
Vanegas decided to present the documentary in Spain first, and later in other countries. According to the manager, the film tells Shakira's struggle to break through in show-business.
"I believe I've done a good job", Vanegas explained. "I've laid the way to her, so she could make it to Bogota. I understand things change, but what I want is to show the truth, very respectfully". In his opinion, the documentary is a journalistic work based on interviews with people close to Shakira.
However, he affirms Shakira is not happy with the documentary.
"I let her know about this project in May. I wrote to her manager, her fiancee, Antonio de la Rúa and as today, I haven't received an official answer", said Vanegas, who claims being Shakira's manager from 1991 to 1993.
"I know that she didn't like it (the documentary) because she let me know through third parties, that she didn't want me to do absolutely nothing about her life. Maybe I remind her of the hard times, the stage of her life when she was beginning, but I can't do anything about it", he argued.
Er... can't do anything about it? Is Vanegas being forced to shoot and promote this film? I'm not saying he shouldn't do it (I don't know about that) but to say "I can't do anything about it" is ridiculous.
The recording, among other things, include Shakira's participation in the contest "Super Cola de TV Novelas de Colombia", something that, according to Vanegas, she regrets. The film also mentions Shakira's relation with Puerto Rican
actor Osvaldo Ríos.

Vanegas insists he's not trying to present anything negative about Shakira with the documentary, although Shakira doesn't feel the same.
I guess we'll only be able to know if Vanegas affirmations are true after seeing the documentary. Until then, everything is pure speculation.
Did you notice the documentary and the book will be released just before Shakira's official biography, written by William Mebarak? Talking about opportunism...
