There is a Mexican taquería called El Fogoncito that opened their doors in Beijing, china in 2007. And it seems they're doing so well that a second location is opening next month.

And these are not the folded tostadas known as tacos in the US, but rather the original soft Tortilla version.

They aren't alone, though. Garibaldi, Nina, and El Cabo are also in business. In Shanghai there's Mexico Cantina & Grill, Zapatas Mexican Mexican Restaraunt & Bar, and Viva el Popo are appearing on blogs and reviews.

Mexican cuisine is not common in china yet, but as commerce between the two countries continues to grow, hopefully so will the cultural exchange.
