This Blog is Racialicious

I've said I won't be talking about racism this year, and I won't.

There are smart people out there, writing about race issues, doing an excellent job (much better than I could ever do) with great talent and intelligence.

Racialicious (formerly known as Mixed Media Watch) is a great blog about the intersection of race and pop culture.

It's written by Carmen Van Kerckhove, who offers interesting posts, well selected links and a sharp point of view.

Specially intriguing is the series where she shows the top trends in race and pop culture of 2006:

The 10 biggest race and pop culture trends of 2006: Part 1 of 3
The 10 biggest race and pop culture trends of 2006: Part 2 of 3

I'm waiting for the "grand finale". You know, just because I don't want to write about it, it doesn't mean I'm not interested in the subject.

Carmen is also asking Are teens learning about racism from reality TV? She has invited everybody to share thoughts about Anastasia Goodstein's post about The 'Reality' of Race in America. What do you think?

Poppy-Flop! Let’s not waste our time with this topic, rather smother it with other more relevant matter.

Ok, let’s focus on more relevant matters… you choose which one! :)

Meanwhile, forgive my ignorance, but…what is “Poppy-flop”?
