Top Ten Latin Albums 2006
Filed in archive Latin Music by Eliane on December 29, 2006
These are the my favorite Latin Albums released on 2006. If you want to widen your knowledge of Latin Music, this can be a start point; I'm sure you'll find at least one or two singers/bands you've never heard of before.

10 - VA - Bandoneon Electro Tango
I like the mix of Electro music with virtually any music style. In this album you'll find it mixed with Tango; the result is a relaxing, enjoyable compilation. I specially recommend "Perfume" and "Miles de Pasajeros", both from Luciano Supervielle.

9 - Juanes - Mi Sangre
I've always liked Juanes. I love the ironic sadness and the passion of the lyrics of "Camisa Negra". Who can't relate to that kind of anger and pain?

8 - No te Va Gustar - Todo es Tan Inflamable
My favorite Uruguayan rock band. They sing about Uruguay and it's social issues, but also about love, friendship and loneliness. This album was released this month, and it's not available in Amazon. Sorry!

7 - Isabella Taviani - Ao Vivo
Isabella Taviani is an excellent Brazilian singer. Her work is really, really nice: poetic, beautiful lyrics, representing a modern version of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) and Bossa-Nova. Kind of a Brazilian Norah Jones.

6 - Julieta Venegas - Limón y Sal
I didn't like Julieta Venegas very much, until she released this album. Simple lyrics and catchy melodies, nice and easy to listen to. "Me Voy" is the best song of the album, the one who caught my attention, with these words:
"No voy a llorar y decir que no merezco esto... es probable que lo merezco, pero no lo quiero, y por eso me voy..." (I won't cry and say I don't deserve this... Probably I deserve it, but I don't want it, and that's why I'm leaving...)
