Woman. One word, a million meanings. A myriad of stars, countless galaxies, all the possible cliches.
Madames that argue and that don't argue. Analytical Pisces that plant contradictions in the walls. Empresses who transform obstacles in humor and cooking in poetry. Elegant lawyers with high heels and royal manners. Journalists who place the life in words. Magical fairies with creative hands.
Anonymous heroines, who save us every day. Who give us a new miracle with every hour: food in the table, hot bread fresh from the oven, clean clothes in the drawer, paid bills. Who face with the same strength the modest life, the shallow luxuries, the poverty and the misery.
Mothers without a name; mother of all, of the husband, mother of her children, of the only son, of the neighbor's children. Guiding lights. Counselors, pro-bono consultants, wash-and-wear friends, partners in disillusions.
Warriors who face with dignity the boss and the mother-in-law, the computer and the stove, the motel's bed and the hospital's bed. Who cry with discretion and smile widely; who pray and freak out; who close deals and suffer with PMS.
They work. They write, tell stories. They change the world, even if it's only their own world. They change their hair color, the skirt's length, change their mind, change of direction. They cook and they bake birthday cakes. They teach, they learn, they argue. They wax, manicure, therapy, course, diet. They make noise, sing loud, speak quietly.
We exchange recipes, we keep secrets, we gossip about. We watch soaps, we review movies, we cry at the end.
Goddesses. Beings that give birth to children, ideas, life.
Women.
